What we built and why
DentalCalc Pro is a collection of 45+ free dental calculators, cost estimators, clinical reference tools, and patient guides. No paywalls, no account required, no content locked behind a form.
The gap we saw: patients facing dental treatment decisions had almost no good information about what things cost, how long healing takes, or what their insurance would actually cover. Clinicians who needed a quick clinical reference - a CAMBRA caries risk score, a CAMBRA recall interval calculation, a periapical dose figure - were digging through textbooks or proprietary software. We built this to fix both problems in one place.
What the tools cover
Tools fall into seven categories. Patient tools cover the day-to-day self-care questions: brushing timers, symptom checkers, anxiety assessments, and medication reminders. Cost estimators cover everything from a simple composite filling to full-mouth implant rehabilitation, with insurance adjustment built in. Clinical calculators cover CAMBRA, Lang and Tonetti PRA, anesthesia dosing, dry socket risk, bone graft volumes, healing times, and BMI/oral health risk.
Child dental tools handle the developmental questions parents ask: when teeth erupt, whether a child is ready for orthodontics, and how much fluoride to use at each age. Oral health tools address the patient-facing questions about gum disease risk, sensitive teeth, bad breath, and mouthwash selection. Practice tools support the dental team with recall scheduling, sterilization logging, fee benchmarking, and CDT code lookup. Converters and references cover tooth numbering systems, X-ray settings, material mixing ratios, cephalometric landmarks, and a 200+ term glossary.
Our principles
Every clinical tool references published guidelines - CAMBRA, NICE CG19, Lang & Tonetti PRA, ADA fee surveys. We cite the source.
We don't accept sponsored content or paid placement from dental product manufacturers. The mouthwash comparison tool doesn't rank Listerine first because of an ad deal.
Patient-facing tools are written for people who don't know what periapical means. Clinical tools assume you do.
The site is ad-supported. Every tool is free, every result is instant, and no calculator is locked behind a subscription.

Every clinical tool on this site includes a disclaimer and it means what it says. A CAMBRA caries risk score from this calculator is a starting point for a clinical conversation, not a substitute for examining the patient. A cost estimate for a dental crown is a 2026 national average, not a quote. An anaesthesia dosage calculation requires verification against the product monograph and the specific patient's medical history before any drug is administered.
